Country-Style Broccoli
½ tsp. extra virgin olive oil
1 head broccoli, sliced
3 garlic scapes, sliced (or 3 or more cloves of garlic, sliced)
1 bunch fresh basil, sliced or minced
Optional:
Add cooked pasta to the stir fry after the garlic tops and basil.
Heat a wok or heavy skillet. Add oil and heat for 15 seconds. Add broccoli and sauté for 3-5
minutes, depending on whether you want it to be crunchy or tender. Add and stir-fry garlic
tops and fresh basil for 1 minute. Taste and add a salty seasoning, if desired. Serve on top
of pasta garnished with olives, if you like.
Improvising suggestions: You can add zucchini, string beans, tofu, onions (or leeks),
tomatoes, or marinated sun-dried tomatoes.
